Cardboard City'
Spring/Summer 2008

Zelda, a lady who encapsulated all that was lavish and glamorous, exploring the debauched and excessive life of a socialite in the jazz age.
The perilous beauty and her husband spent money beyond their means and the self obsessive couple became thwarted by demons and entered a crippling life of poverty.

This collection references her triumphant and tragic existence with jeweled, impulsive and surreal consequences. Cardboard City is a conclusion; the beautiful and the damned can be seen as boxed remnants encasing an elegant and reckless history.

The feminine silk designs are contrasted with the hard / edgy cut of bespoke leather pieces alongside clean basics and appeal to those with a dark romantic side who look for a couture accent in their day and evening wear .

As with all her creations, the September 2007 collection comprises free-drawn machine embroidery and hand-produced cutwork.

All garments are in either black, pearl and grey with the subtlest highlights of reds, pinks, blues and gold in delicate thread work.
